REFLECTION

Experience
This module was quite fun! As someone who has always been interested in publication, magazines and editorial layouts, it was interesting to learn more about it. The lectures were quite informative and I enjoyed the exercises that led up to our own book layout. Though it was quite a challenge to create my own content (both visuals and text), it was quite satisfying to see a final physical product. I liked that we had the opportunity to produce something physical as a final outcome, especially since all previous work in other modules have been solely digital. Even though I wasn't 100% satisfied with my Task 3 work, it was still really fulfilling to see something I created in my hands. This module has made me more excited to take on future projects similar to this.

Observations
Searching for inspiration led me to analyze how different grid layouts and structures are used by different designers. I found that an even amount of columns and rows provide a more balanced and modular grid, but I found it quite a bit restricting. On the other hand, an odd number of rows and columns allowed me for both balance and flexibility, both options are helpful depending on what exactly we are creating.

Findings
I found that it is crucial to ensure the sizes and format is correct when printing, especially as it's not cheap and takes some effort. To ensure everything is correct, it is essential that we maintain good communication with the printer (person). At first when they asked me to change my formats, I was a bit hesitant but I decided to trust them anyway since they know what they are doing, and they did. It was quite the experience to go to the print shop and actually print something for myself.
