REFLECTION

Experience
This module has been quite informative in terms of theory as well as practical. These past few months of creating my own brand was honestly a challenging yet fun experience. I learned how to maintain a cohesive brand whilst also producing visuals that reflected the brand well, it was especially great as we were designing our own brands and thus we could fully understand our brand values and all as, after all we are the ones creating it ourselves. It was interesting to create visuals and compile visuals to ensure cohesion that doesn't look boring while also not straying too far away from the true feel of the brand. From logo design to overall brand identity, I'd say this module was an enjoyable experience to learn how to build a brand identity, especially with Ms. Lilian's guidance throughout the weeks.

Observation
Throughout the module, I was able to observe other logos and brand identities, which definitely helped in increasing my awareness towards brands. I was able to see and actually acknowledge how different brands present themselves, keeping them in mind when I have to do the same myself. I'd say I'm now more aware and attentive to brands and logos, especially what they truly entail and definitely appreciate designers even more.

Findings
I learned that logo design is not easy... like really hard. I was struggling to create a logo for my brand as I was unsure of how exactly I wanted to present it, thus I realized the importance of outlining a whole brand and its wanted outcome in order to create a logo that would somehow capture the essence of it. As an (aspiring) designer, I've been learning that our job isn't to only make things look pretty but also ensure the meaning that stands behind it. Especially through logo design and brand visual identity, it's important that the visuals align with the brand and maintains this same feel throughout its other aspects. After this module, I really am more mindful and appreciative of logo designers and their works.
