LECTURE
Introduction to Photoshop 3
Mr. Fauzi explained to us about adjustment layers and filters. He told us how they can make the colors in an image or composition look more cohesive.
Adjustment layer
Adjustment layer
- it's an editing tool in Photoshop that allows us to adjust the colors and tones in an image without permanently changing the pixels
- these edits can be changed/discarded
Different kinds of adjustment layers:
- Left: Brightness/Contrast
- Levels
- Exposure
- Curves
- Selective Color
- change color, blur, create new image effects

PRACTICAL
Adjustment Layers
Next, we were tasked to create adjustment layers in the previous exercises where we made 3 digital collages. We picked the best one and made the adjustments so that the overall composition looks better.
This is my composition chosen before any adjustment layers

First, I changed the hue and lowered the saturation of the fish to give it a more lighter blue color. I also did the same with the vending machine, and turned down the brightness and contrast.
I adjusted the color of the leaves by turning down the saturation a little as well as changing the hue. As for the man in the bench, I turned down the vibrance so the colors matched more.
Below is a before and after comparison
Final Composition (Digital Collage)
After adding Adjustment Layers of different Brightness/Contrast, Hue/Saturation, Exposure, and Black & White, I finally finished the final composition. Overall, the colors of the composition are less messy and vibrant, now more cohesive-looking.
